Frenectomy
Your comfort and satisfaction are our Number One Priority!
Fix your Frenum with a
Frenectomy
A frenum is a small muscular fold which attaches two tissues together. Sometimes the frenum is overly restrictive which causes speech impediments and difficulty eating. This is often diagnosed in children and can be repaired with surgery.
We take great care with our littlest patients making sure both you and they are comfortable and happy with the treatment. Call today and let’s set up an appointment for your child’s first exam to see if a frenectomy is for you.
What is the surgery like?
Our doctors and team are trained to take great care when undergoing any procedure and a frenectomy is no exception. A frenectomy involves the removal of excess frenal tissue. Once this is removed it no longer restricts movement and speech impediments often go away.
The best way to get a frenectomy is by using a CO2 dental laser. In the past a frenectomy was much more extensive but with the dental laser it is much less invasive, painful, and eliminates the need for sutures.
